Chemical Safety / Hazard Communications

The Chemical Hazard Communication Program at WSU is a vehicle through which employees are informed of chemical hazards. Each unit that uses chemicals in a non-laboratory environment is to have a written Hazard Communication Program. The program's main parts are:
  • a written program
  • a chemical inventory
  • material safety data sheets (MSDS)
  • container labeling
  • training
Occupational Health & Safety will work with departments to develop a Chemical Hazard Communication Program. Contact EH&S at 335-3041 to request assistance.

OHS has a template designed for units to develop and implement a Chemical Hazard Communication Program.
