Bloodborne Pathogen Training

WHEN: TBA
WHERE:
TIME:
REGISTER: HRS TRAINING SITE

Environmental Health and Safety periodically holds Bloodborne Pathogen training, both initial and refreshers. This training is required for all university employees, and their supervisors, who may have an occupational exposure to human blood or other bodily fluids.

In addition to training individuals, the training course is designed to assist a department in writing the Bloodborne Pathogen Exposure Control Plan (BBPECP) which is required under state and federal standards. This training provides an understanding of the standards, responsibilities of the employee and employer, and procedures to follow if an exposure occurs. Both initial and follow-up annual training will be given to employees during their normal work hours at no charge. Records of the training must be maintained by your department for inspection by the State Department of Labor and Industries.
